The PEBEQ is a patient-reported, self-administered diary completed within 12 hours of sexual intercourse, and used to assess PE related bothersomeness by addressing the concepts of frustration, disappointment, distress, and overall bothersomeness, using a 5 point rating scale (not at all to extremely), about the intercourse that just occurred, and a second more general section for worry about lasting long enough before ejaculating, worry about partner and anxiousness.
Respondents are asked to complete the 4-item subscale about a single sexual event (the one having just occurred), followed by the 3-item subscale which references feelings prior to the sexual event. Individual item scores are summed to yield a total event specific PEBEQ score and a general PEBEQ score. The intent is to use results from the PEBEQ to evaluate treatment benefit.
